Pin out/color scheme LANC cable
 

My cable has black,red, green connecting to a 2.5mm male lanc.
green to shield,black/one,red/two------correct?

The colours are immaterial.

As long as the appropriate connection on one connector matches the same connection on another connector everything is fine.

I've made up gawd knows how many Lanc extension cables and never used the same colour code twice (that I'm aware of), just made sure that the right bit ends up with the right bit.

Whether the manufacturers follow any set code is unknown (to me) as I've never taken my Canon Lanc O/P cable to pieces (and have never had to).
