Two camera shoot, progressive or interlaced?
Hello everyone, I have a two camera shoot coming up pretty soon. The downfall is that the cameras do not match. One is a Canon XL A1 and the other is a Sony VX2100.
As you know the A1 is an HDV camera capable of 30p recording. The VX2100 is only standard def interlaced recording. But I want the footage to match as close as possible without compromising quality. My question is, when setting up the A1 should I shoot standard def with that camera in 60i or 30p? Or should I shoot HDV at 60i or 30p? Logically I would think SD at 60i to match the SD at 60i the VX2100 is recording. Or would it better better to shoot the highest quality with the A1 that I can and go down from there in post? Will it match as well? |
Well, I'm no authority, and I just got my A1 a month ago, but I've been reading on here a lot.
Many people are saying that recording SD on the A1 is pretty low quality. They often recommend recording in HDV and downgrading in post. I hope this helps. Maybe post this question in the A1 forum instead? |
