Know a good screenwriting forum?
The "public" forum that I found through Google sports 95% flames and garbage. Does anyone know of a forum about writing for film and/or TV that approaches something like DV Info?

Been writing screenplays for about ten years, optioned two, never found a decent forum.
Best bet is to host live ones in your own home. Get lots of nice cookies that way. Good luck! |
Try this one-

The best, bar none, is www.wordplayer.com. No flaming allowed. No advertising. It's run by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio (Shrek, Pirates of the Caribbean, Men in Black (uncredited) among others). You can talk movies on one forum and screenwriting on the other one. You should also check out the columns. There are about 45 of them now and they're better than any screenwriting book.
Ted and Terry post frequently, as do other professional TV and film writers (Charles Pogue, Bill Martell, who also has a pretty good site, www.scriptsecrets.net). |
Excellent links, Philip... thanks!

Try www.moviebytes.com. It also has an excellent rating system for contests, as well as continually updated editorial copy.

I second the recommendation of the Wordplay site. It's been mentioned here on DVInfo.net before.
