Premiere is a great program, but you know what they say... What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. You should try Vegas, it's an awesome program. It's probably the easiest editing program to use.
When your ready to sell your TRV19, let me know :) |
haha, I prolly wont be selling it anytime soon. I really wont be using it much so it will be fine. Premiere is the only program I have heard of as far as video editing, thats why I plan on using it.

You know....I too am considering getting a trv19. I'd like to have a deck for my pdx10, something CHEAP, but that could be used to shoot certain stuff if need be. I does have white balance, shutter speed and exposure controls. I thought I'd post here since it's the only thread in dvinfo history to deal with this cam. Sorry to change the subject a bit :). Any thoughts on cams as decks?

I dont know if you guys have used Windows Movie Maker 2 at all but I was just wondering if you could help me with this question. I am capturing right now using that program and there are a bunch of different rates and whatnot to capture at. My question is, would Premiere or any other programs be able to capture with the same settings and quality but at a smaller file size? Or would Movie Maker work. The reason I ask is I want to people to be able to download good quality 640x480 videos if not 720x480. I dont want the files to be gigantic but I still want good quality. Thanks for the help.

You should capture at DV resolution/quality and then encode your footage later. Most NLEs don't play nicely with non-DV footage and you'll get generation loss.

PROS and CONS of the TRV19 as a deck
PRO It's sony so it might last longer (consumer reports say they need the least repairs) CON bottom loading (most cameras are nowadays?) price no analog-digital passthrough (need TRV22 or PDX10) this means you can't hook up your monitor? |

NLE? Well I figured with Premiere I would do raw DV and encode. In Movie Maker the highest quality I can do is Digital Device Format (DV-AVI). When capturuing DV what is the format it woudl be before encoding? |
NLE = non linear editor
If you are capturing DV you are capturing at the highest quality possible. |
Ok.
Thanks for your help. Boy do I wish I had the money to buy these programs |
