 Moving Travel Map

I'm doing a documentary on the City of Rajshahi in Bangladesh.
For openers I would like to use a world map; The flight starting in Mineapolis to Tokyo then Singapore to DHAKA, Bangladesh then it was by bus to Rajshahi. I would like to use a format as when travelling overseas, one can watch the screen and see the location....position of the aircraft. Any suggestions as to how I might use this format to show the viewers, just where Bangladesh is and at least to Dhaka. Any help appreciated. I've moved your question to a more approriate forum.

I don't understand what you want. Do you have a link to something similar? If it's an animation, I would do it in post.

from my understanding, your looking to do something similar to the Indian Jones thing. Where it shows a scrolling map with a moving red line indicating current position, with red dots positioning stops along the way.
Personally I have no real suggestions on how this can be do relativitly easy. The onoly way which I can think of this working is the following; - Have a high quality world map, maybe something from NASA. - Place a red dot on your origin - Then have a thinner red line begin moving out of the red dot. - the line must have a transparncy bordering the red dot. - Once the origin dot is out of view, I imagine it would be relativily easy to do. Please let us see the final product!! |

Which editing program are you doing?
I would create an image and overlay it onto the map. I would use a garbage matte to gradually reveal the red path overlay. Create the overlay in Photoshop, add a little texture maybe, and make sure you start off with a broadcast safe color. Save a copy in a format with an alpha/transparency channel. |

This sounds like a variation on scripted text that appears to write by itself. There's a great tutorial on how to do this at:

If you have after effects, create a mask and apply Vegas or Stroke
