Video head degausser ?

Hi,

When I used to run multitrack audio tape recorders and stereo recorder decks, I wet cleaned the heads and used a Demagnetizer machine. A number of pro audio engineers recommended this practice, but I haven't seen any mention of
it in the video world. I didn't notice an abvious difference on my audio decks, but I used the Demagnetizer nonetheless. They come in the shape of audio cassettes or a magic wand. I own
the magic wand variety.

Head demagnetizers are not used for modern video equipment. It is not recommended for any current format of video tape. Two inch video had to have the heads demagnetized, not sure about one inch machines, but I don't remember doing it.
