Comments have been made about shooting on a tripod. This will make a huge difference in the resultant video quality. If you're shooting from the stands and there's not room for a tripod, get a monopod. Light weight. Takes up no real estate in the stands. Two stagers will collapse to about 18". It will be US$100 well spent.

Also, If you shoot at dirt tracks, get a protective cover for the cam and a UV filter for the lens. Good general practice anywhere, actually.
