The system in places for UK universities is quite a bit different to the system employed in the US. Internships is arts subjects are quite rare. The UK production industry has never had the culture of internship - just something that rarely happens, and as people have been said, most film courses have the word digital sneaked in, as actual film is rare. Quite a few of the popular television courses concentrate on the art and the process - not equipment, so you might find a degree in outside broadcast engineering carried out on a Sony Anycast in a small vehicle, NOT a real OB unit. Choosing UK universities is still a difficult thing unless you can visit each one. Gloucester were also one that detailed their staff/student ratio - so 20% of your time is taught, the rest, self-study.
