PAL-M in Brazil

Does anyone know whether a VHS tape made in Spain (PAL B/G) can be played in Brazil (PAL M)? Any idea what these differences mean?

Thanks!

No. The frame rate is different.

Brazil's PAL is basically NTSC. It is much easier to convert NTSC to Brazil's 60 fields per second PAL via a multi-system VCR---but I'm not even sure if you'd have to convert (from NTSC to Brazil's PAL). With "normal" PAL to Brazil's, you do have to convert---unless it's a multi-system TV or M.S. VCR is used.

Thanks Frank!

I should have asked this immediately, but do Argentinia, Paraguay and Urugay (PAL N) also have 60 fields p/s? Why do they call these systems PAL?

As far as I know, only Brazil has this funny PAL system, where NTSC cams are actually used.

It looks like PAL-M is an NTSC signal on a PAL frequency.
