I would really like to avoid it. Can you imagine doing a shoot

Will that stuff set off a smoke detector also?

I spoke to our fire alarm folks about this. It depends on the kind of alarms.
Some of them work from particulate sensing. Others use
Infra Red beams that when broken set off the alarm. We have both in the
video studio. From what these guys said, if any smoke or haze is thick
enough to break the beam, yes.

The MDG atmosphere has such a fine particulate that it gets plenty hazey
without blocking the IR beam or setting of the sensor. I think the
fog in a can should be okay. I used FiaC at The Detroit Public Library and
had no issues.
