Rip DVD footage to Mac

I'm a novice wedding videographer and I was contacted to edit an hour of amateur footage into a 10 minute video. The footage is on USB drives and DVDs. I'm wondering what the best solution to retrieve the footage from the DVDs would be.

Thanks,
Jamie

Depends on your editing program but Mpegstreamclip (free) would be a good start, it can rip / convert from and to most Mac friendly video formats for editing.

DVDxDV is another program that I use quite often when I need to edit footage from DVDs. Very easy to use and does an excellent job.

Handbrake is another alternative.
