Which Bag/Case Houses Your Camera?
 

Just wanted to see what people are using these days for their camera/equipment. I need to eventually get one for my eventual GL-2 and I've been eyeing the Panasonic AG-YUSC100 listed here:

What are everyone's opinions?
I've used Pelican hard cases before and I love 'em so I was swayed to buy some of those but a.) I would rather keep several things in one bag as oppossed to having several Pelicans for diff. items, and b.) more than one Pelican starts to get a bit bulky when carrying, after all I won't be rock climbing with my stuff. I just want to be sure that these soft cases are of decent shock proof/water repellent material. Thanks for any feedback you have.

Porta Brace for me, but there are lots, LOTS of threads on this topic. Do a search and you'll have tons of material to read.

I use a plastic grocery bag. :-)

Works great and they're pretty cheap.

I travel a lot so I had a custom case built by a local company. It is more like a trunk: http://www.PhotoCrib.net/is.php?i=32491&img=case.JPG

It is a pain to lug around sometimes, but it keeps the camera safe. As far as rock climbing goes…you kind of would have to imagine you are a 19th century photographer. :) It does have wheels.

Some of this stuff looks awesome, and I'd really love to stay under $150. I know I can get a pretty large Pelican for that price.
So has anyone used the aforementioned YUSC-100?
Or any Pelican supporter?
Also, does anyone know if the YUSC-100 meets airline carry on specs? Or which Pelican is the largest that ALSO meets these airline specs?

I carry my XL1s in a Kata bag. It's travelled a fair amount and held up well, protecting the camera as carry-on luggage.

One of our show producers carries his PD-170 in a Pelican case. The other carries his PD-150 in a small tool bag.

For my PDX10 I'm looking at a compact waterproof case normally used on boats to carry flares, tools or medical supplies.

I carry a PortaBrace CAR-3 Cargo case. Their DV cases didn't have enough room for my PDX10 and all the stuff I carry around.

I carry the PDX-10 with shotgun and windsock attached, wireless Azden 100LT kit, Shure handheld mic, Matte Box, LCD shroud, Eyecup, oversized lens shade, polorizer lens, .65 WA lens, assorted mic/audio cables, various video cables, all sorts of adapters in a heavy zip-lock bag, white balance card, spare tapes, cleaning tape, pen and paper, Varizoom VZRock zoom/focus control. I think that's about it. All fit quite well and even have a little room left over, but not much.

Like Dean I carry my xl1s in a Kata soft bag. I use the standard hard case from canon as well. You will find both are handy and compliment each other. The soft case for in and out of the car etc. The hard case when in a tougher enviroment.

For my GL2, I use a nicely padded lowepro bag, carries pretty much all the extras I need and has straps to attach your tripod to. My FX1 came with a petrol case, very solid(but not my choice). Still, does the job good enough since it has been sent via FedEx to me and back during many assignments over the year. Kept my camera in perfect condition.
