Recommend me a video camera =)

Hi, I currently shoot on a Canon XHA1 and 2 Panasonic GH2's. I need to dump my Canon because I don't like dealing with tape, the quality is a bit dated, and lately it's been dropping frames badly while using brand new Sony miniDV tapes. When I upload to Premiere I don't get dropped frames, but the footage itself ends up missing pieces of footage. It's unacceptable. I need basically a 3 ring long zoom prosumer ENG style camera. Its intention is for live events, corporate, etc. I don't need it for films/music videos/etc. I use my GH2's for that. What's a suitable camera in the $3k and under range? Should I get a used Sony EX1R? Thanks!

Sorry, i don't mean to beat a dead horse on this one, but i find myself always going to the AF100 as default.
Especially, in your case, since you're shooting GH2's anyways.

I realize you're looking for more of an ENG camera, but i've seen examples of Fujinons mounted on the AF100's..

Not much choice if you want a "3 ring lens" camera for your budget, maybe a panasonic ag ac90? Or if you can find a used ex1 for that price then certainly go for that one.

You can pick up used Sony NX5Us and AX2000s in that price range.

I doubt you'll find a used EX1R in that range. Like Noa said maybe a EX1 but then you also said you wanted a long zoom and the EX1-1R don't necessarily fall into that arena. I agree the AX2000 and NX5U might be the way to go if you don't mind switching to Sony.
