Finding a place to buy a Camera 3CCD
 

Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy a camera to do some short films and wanted to see if anyone one here capould give me a good web site to buy from. and if anyone know of any places where they offer pay as you go. kind of like renting to own. where i can have the camera sent to my house and just make payment every month until it is paid off. If anyone has sugestions or connection to web site please feel free to inform me okay. Tghanks for your time. Oh yeah the cameras im looking to is iether the Canon GL1,2 the XL1,2

I believe it will involve a credit check where they determine if you're qualified for the program. Read all the terms and conditions carefully.

Thanks a lot Boyd 3CCD is a little pricey for me right now. I think im going to go with the Panasonic AG-DVC7. I know i could probably get a Mini sized Panasonic GS Series 3CCD but i wanted something that looked more professional you know. The school i went to had the DCV7's before they got the XL2's and i thought they were great. Im looking to film weddings and Special occasions, Music Videos, Short Films and anything else that comes along. Do you think this camera is good enough to start off with and upgrade later. I have read some reviews on other web site like B&H about the camera and people were saying that with the right lighting you cant even tell the difrence between the 3CCD cameras and the DVC7. Even at night the DVC7 is supposed to have good clarity. I cant wait i got like 5 scripts ready to shoot once i get the right Camera. You think this is a good desicion to start with. I was just wondering cause i tried looking around the boards to see if anyone talked about this Camera but i couldn't find anything. Please Reassure me cause im kind of Sceptikle . But only because its doesnt hace 3CCD technology in it....

Don't be too put off by the lack of DVC7 traffic around here. We don't seem to appeal to everybody for some reason. But the principles are all the same, and you'll definitely find a home here.

Hi Derrick. That camera's sort of an "oldie but goodie" I think, isn't it? I don't really know anything about it unfortunately. A few years ago I designed a set for a concert which PBS broadcast. I remember that someone from the station was wandering around backstage shooting footage for a "making of" DVD using the DVC7 though. So I guess that WHYY thought it was good enough for that kind of thing.

But the main thing is, you're already familiar with that camera and what it can and cannot do. So that should give you some confidence. Good luck with the purchase!
