Corrupted footage!
Hello.
I'm desperate. Just shot a wedding on my most reliable Sony DSR250p, and the first tape is ruined..all the pre-ceremony and the ceremony itself! I've read your tip that says to playback the tape in slow-mo, but those huge squares remain, plus on the left side of the picture there are some areas that are completely blank, no matter how slow I play the tape. Another thing...there's no sound. Do you think there's any way I can recover some of it? Anything...? Please, it's urgent. Thank you for your time. |
Does it look the same when playing back from another Camera?

Yes, it does!
On all three players I have. Thanks. |
when tape edge damage occurs the sound track is the first thing lost. I don't think you can recover that if you can see tape edge damage when looking at the tape. flip the door back and visually look at it under a bright light. I have had some luck running the tape in a higher end deck. tape that would not play out in a DSR-11 deck had better results playing back in a DSR 80 deck. can you get to higher end decks? and if so be ready to make a copy when playing back

You could also look for some data recovery services. They mostly do things like recover data from crashed hard drives, but some offer recovery services from other media, including miniDV. They may be able to get data off of even badly damaged tapes.

Thanks!
Actually, I've found ''video interchange'', and i think i' going to send it to them, though i'd prefer someone here in Europe! |
