How to find technical production details for a given broadcast or film

Are there any Internet resources that collect production information on TV shows and films?

Just knowing basics like the camera model and post-production software would be fun, but specific information about each scene would be very neat, such as how they did the audio, when they used manual/auto focus, which lens, shutter speed, etc. I've already picked up a few interesting tidbits about several shows I enjoy just by reading these forums. IMDB has "technical specifications", but it's rather bare.

There's no one-stop location for that sort of information. As you've discovered, it takes a bit of detective work. IMDB has some bare information. Of course, BTS footage on DVD's is a good source. And it appears more and more these days, that the desire for more info on the technical side is fuelling BTS shooting and DVD 'bonus' features.

Subscribing to industry magazines is also a good way to do it. American Cinematographer for instance, will often discuss how a particular look was achieved for different films.

But a scene by scene breakdown for any particular movie isn't going to be available.
