Secrets of the JVC GY DV5000 Tip#4-FAS SECRET
 
After much experimenting this weekend, I have discovered that by following the instructions for limiting the gain in ALC put forth in TIP#3, this will IN FACT limit the grain in Full Auto Shooting as well. So, no more grain in dark areas. Good Luck.
