Data Rate

I edit with FCP and I was just looking at some footage I recently shot (with the HMC150). I encode to ProRess422 on capture and the data rate is anywhere from 16-18. In another project which was shot (and captured) in HDV, the data rate was 21+.

Is this normal? The footage looks great, just curious is this was the norm for the data rate.
