Libec LS-22 or Manfrotto 501HDV for HMC-150?

Good evening folks,

I am about to pick a tripod system for my HMC-150 and I am about to pick one of these two:

Libec | LS-22(2A) Professional Tripod System | LS-22(2A) | B&H

Manfrotto by Bogen Imaging | 501HDV,351MVB2K | 501HDV,351MVB2K

I read a recent thread about tripods for HMC-150, but my question here is ONLY about those two.

Pros, cons, comments?
Which one would you get and why?

Thanks very much for your opinion!!

Best Regards,

Libec is excellent.

Libec without a doubt. I just got the LS-22 and LOVE IT!

I played with the 501 at a store and it does not compare.

Libec is well built and great for pans!

I heard from a friend that it is best to get the one without the ground spreader. I have the one that is at the middle and it works fine.

Hope this helps.

Simon

As someone who purchased a 501HDV for the 150, I can say it's great if you don't want to move the camera!
I recently upgraded to the 503HDV and it's a whole new world. Everything is smooth and works like it should.
Can't speak for the Libec but have heard nothing but stellar things about it. I chose the 503 to keep all my gear compatible QR plate-wise. I seem to have TON of them!

I too have a 503dv and it's smooth as butter. I can't speak for the 501, but this head is fantastic. A little pricey but the continuously variable drag adjustments are worth it and the lighted bubble is nice.
