But does the Sony really record in a "true" 1080p30 manner? I was under the impression this was still the trickery recording method backwards compatable with 29.97, interlaced recording. I'm really wanting my next cam to have a true 30fps progressive scan HD mode where when I work with this on the timeline, I'm dealing with literally 30 equal frames inside of 1 second and audio that matches this.

It does 30P over 60i like all the other 30p cams. It does however do true 24P so why even fool with the oddball 30P over 60i?
