Congratulations on your HMC80 and wet feet Steve. The HMC40 handles normal people movement at 1/30 sec shutter speeds nicely. Maybe your 80 will as well.

Good shooting.

re: AG-HMC80 getting my feet wet...

Dan,
Thanks for the advise. I have already tried 1/30 shutter and I agree that it still looked good for slower type movement. The difference in light was definitely noticable.
BTW, I used to live in AZ and would love to film in places like Sedona.

Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve

That looked like abnormally low light!! Tough for any camera to work with!!!

Just for the record did you check what gain setting the camera used in auto???? I must admit I wouldn't like to have to shoot in such dim conditions!! When the light gets low, my on cam LED light springs into action!!

Keep the sample footage coming!!

Chris

I've used the HMC40 in a dark workshop (more of a shed!) at 24dB gain, and I found it more than acceptable given how little light there was. I am less afraid of gain on this camera than I was on my Sony V1E, where the grain was much more noticable.
