Congratulations on your HMC80 and wet feet Steve. The HMC40 handles normal people movement at 1/30 sec shutter speeds nicely. Maybe your 80 will as well.
Good shooting. |
re: AG-HMC80 getting my feet wet...
Dan,
Thanks for the advise. I have already tried 1/30 shutter and I agree that it still looked good for slower type movement. The difference in light was definitely noticable. BTW, I used to live in AZ and would love to film in places like Sedona. Regards, Steve |
Hi Steve
That looked like abnormally low light!! Tough for any camera to work with!!! Just for the record did you check what gain setting the camera used in auto???? I must admit I wouldn't like to have to shoot in such dim conditions!! When the light gets low, my on cam LED light springs into action!! Keep the sample footage coming!! Chris |
I've used the HMC40 in a dark workshop (more of a shed!) at 24dB gain, and I found it more than acceptable given how little light there was. I am less afraid of gain on this camera than I was on my Sony V1E, where the grain was much more noticable.
