Alright I've had it.

My little Panasonic has been messing up too much lately, i'm seriously ready to trash it, anyone want to buy it for $250?

First it was the LCD that went out, it's totally out now, apparently because of a bad connection., i'm planning on sending it in at the end of next month. Then yesterday it said "clock battery", so I had to plug it in for 4 hours for that to charge up (even though i dont ever use the clock). And I was trying to do some stuff just like 5 minutes ago (kind of time lapse, i'm going to move my room around and was just going to mess around) and it said "DEW DETECTED" "EJECT TAPE. It didn't even experience any temperature changes...

I've had to refer to the manual like 4 times this week, thats not good.

Wow...

Like my Pappy used to say, "If ya want to play with the big boys, ya need to have big boy toys".

Ok, he never really said that, but it's still true.

Don't feel bad about your inexpensive cam. My frie nd had one of the first Pana miniDV cams, and it gave him nothing but problems. After spending most of its time in the shop, somewhere in the USA, and when getting it back back it went, he finally threw it in the garbage. This wasn't a cheap cam, though. It cost him over $5000 Canadian, and that was a deal back then when you were still a wee one. :)

Oh, the moral? Don't sweat it!

Alex, just find a deal like this on eBay.. I wish I could have picked this one up since I already have Panny accessories.

Yeah Tommy, I was looking at that, i'd have 2 cameras then. :D I'm going to find out how much it's going to cost to get this fixed, since the warranty is over for labor, and if it's around something like 70 bux or whatever (which I hope it's not, but it may) i'll probably just bid on one of them auctions and get another camera. That would be sweet.

Get it fixed for $70 and sell it for $150. Use that for a down-payment on another camera?

Glen Elliott June 29th, 2003 08:54 AM

Be carefull maybe those guys who are bidding on their DV52 are having the same problems you are!
I'd send it in to Panasonic to get it fixed. If it's not that pricey that is. Remember new DV52s only go for $350.
