Powering the GS100

Everything about the GS100 sounds great! I was thinking, How do you all recharge the batteries? Will the camera use 110 volt? or will I need a step-down transformer? Thanks for all the great info the people of this forum have given me.

As with most laptop computers of today they come with power supplies which also convert power.... This is the same for camcorders, you only need to have the right adapter. Japan uses similar power 100v 50-60 hz as the United States 120v 60hz. The plug is the same so no adapter is necessary. The power supply does the rest.

So with NTSC and the power the only thing that is missing is the Engish language menus!

:-)

Pardon my ignorance, I was under the impression that there would be no problems to charge these batteries in Europe or other places where the voltage is not 110. There is at least one member who is in Germany. Could you please comment? Thanks.

The power adapter is rated 100-240VAC (auto-volt detect). 50/60Hz. You only need to buy a plug adapter in order to connect to European type socket.

It works for both 220V and 110V.
I tried them both using a converter from 220 to 110 and it worked.
