PV-GS70 any thoughts - using as transport
 

Hello,

I'm in the process of purchasing a DVX100 but would like to use something other than the actual camera for transporting tape. I'm aware of the portable MiniDV players and the JVC MiniDV/SVHS VTR(prosumer model) but thought I might get more use from a second camera working also as a tape transport. I can't yet afford a pro transport device so your views are appreciated.

I would buy a cheap but solid Sony miniDV cam and include a long term extended warranty---since the heads are going to get lots of use.
