Well I have heard that the Raynox in the 58mm have
unusually low distortion. What's the downside with the
Raynox? Wasn't it said they're not too sharp around
the edges? Or are they okay at full wide.

Do you have 43mm threads on your cam? Will this 58mm threaded Raynox fit into your cam's lens housing?

I'm assumiing Michael was referring to The Raynox HD
in the 37mm.
I found the link below. Now, I wonder about those QC lenses.
They are snap on and not zoom through, but for myself,
I only need them at full wide. Anyone tried those?
I see they go for about $35 a piece. Perhaps they'd
be worth trying.

When I owned a gs100, I used a Raynox HD on it and the results were very good. Maybe just a teeeeny bit of fisheye at full wide-angle, but pretty darn good for about 130 bucks and b&h, or whatever it is now.

Any feedback on the Redeye aspherics Frank? Seems strange to me that no-one at the factory bothered to answer my email. I just might have been a customer wanting to import thousands of them into Korea or something. It raises my suspicions, but if you get the chance to test one locally, that'll be good.

tom.

Kenko sample link.

Dave, this is the link for the posting I did on camcorderinfo.com with the most recent shot with my Kenko wide angle lense. This was taken with my DV953 in San Juan. I thought I had more, but got shot happy without the wide angle.
