nice tiny 3-chip

What else, the GS200. What a nice little cam!

My wife wanted to buy it on the spot!

But is ain't no Japanese Domestic such as the GS100 and the old MX3000. :-))

It may be tiny, but it's still puffy.

The biggest query i have about this camera is whether or not the image stabiliser is worth using since the chip resolution is so high. another thing guys, because this cam is only using a portion of the ccd will that mean that things such as barrel distortion will be reduced because this generally only occurs at the corners of the ccd.

I never tried the cam. There was no battery in it nor did I have a miniDV tape with me. I just looked it over, felt it, and put it in my hand...nice fit. :-))

Frank, like the "palm-grippy" stuff on the body? Is it rubber or what? Neat idea . . you think you've seen it all . .then . ..

Like I said, it looks and feels like a nice cam but it does look puffy for its tiny size. It must be the square-ish box-like shape.

I did see small Panasonic with 3 ccds but I can not remember the model. I did see dv953 and I think it is better and the gs400 will be more better but I have not seen the gs400 because it is not out yet.

That certainly does explain why you haven't seen one. :-))

the GS200 was released in Japan quite some time ago, but was only just released world wide, it is the same body as the GS70 just the internals are different, apparently the CCD's are the same as the GS100 or the MX500 or something like that anyway
