GS400 PAL price?

Does anyone know what the PAL price will be in Australia and Yowch country, in terms of US Dollars? I'm curious if the PAL version will be more money than the US and Jap. versions. Thanks.

Frank, I think the Panasonic UK site has something called auctions and at one point the gs400 was going for about 999 pounds. Don't know what that translates to in Canadian or U.S. dollars.

Thanks. But buying from the UK is expensive. Maybe I'll e-mail Camera Action in AU.

No news of the GS400 here yet, I'll continue to check on it.

Thanks, Yow.

u can get a dvc30 for street price of 3700 (rrp 4500), which is 100 more than i bought my mx500 for.. BUT the mx is still retailing at 3800 (i bought mine 3600) u can find these at street price of 3k

most likely, the GS would sell between 3200 amd 4000 (street )

Frank Granovski June 19th, 2004 05:25 AM

That's too expensive, even in Canadian Dollars when you make the exchange. The DVC30 with the XLR attachment sells for $3200 here in Vancouver. Or has the AU Dollar dropped against the Canadian Dollar?

Peter Jefferson June 19th, 2004 05:47 AM

most likely mate..
if i coudl get a pal dvc30 with the xlr kit for 3200, id be a happy man..

right now, im selling some music gear to be able to rack up some extra cash for the dvc30 and a new PC..

I thought about gettin rid of the MX500, but right now i need to have 2 3CCD cams on hand and the lil ds88 (my 3rd cam) just doesnt cut it nea the DVX in good light im afraid
at least in god light i can still do some slight correction on teh MX footage to match the dvx..

im hoping that with the spec of the DVC30, i wont need to do any matching...

Prices are ridiculous here in oz..

I've seen the MX500 on ebay australia for $2160 from a dealer in perth. best price i've seen, generally in australia though we get stooged about twice on retail prices of electronics products here, sony being the most prominent in these instances.

If your going OS and you live in victoria(aus) then go down to springvale and get yourself a camera from there duty free, there are two shops there, one is good to deal, i can't recommend going to the other one. my friend just bought a GS120 today, cheapest price b4 that was $1650 at JB if he bought it then and there paying cash, he got it for $1350 with 6 extra tapes and an adaptor plug for South Africa.

it's almost worth it to take a short holiday to hong kong, thailand, bali or even Dubai(apparently the cheapest for duty free). just to by electronic goods etc etc.

1040 pounds - is it similar to the truth? Photo is wrong.

Frank Granovski June 24th, 2004 02:38 AM

1040 English Pounds is over $2500 Canadian. :-(
