this picture, again
I`m planning to buy the Panasonic GS400. But I want to know if I won`t get this "artifact". Follow the arrow:
It was shot with the jvc gr dv 3000u and manipulated using sony vegas 6.0c. http://feb03.imghost.us/asvzwd.jpg If possible, tell me: how can I post a picture here? Thanks. |
Hey Alex, I'm not quite sure what to call the noise in the DV3000 frame but I can vouch that the GS400 is much cleaner than the two DV3000s I've had.
Unfortunately we cannont embed photos in our posts. |
thanks
The noise you saw was added on purpose with vegas film effects filter, but the artifact I refer to is the one on the edge: the "skin color mixed up with the shirt color".
Thanks for your reply. |
I was referring to the circled area. The DV3000 does not handle high contrasts very well but there again the GS400 with its 3CCD arrangement and much improved DSPs would most likely not have this issue.

thanks
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards. |
I think that relates to m-jpeg compression used in minidv type camera. I don't think that you can avoid these sorts of issue. All you can do is to minimize the effect, i.e. set detail to be lowest, contrast to be lowest etc.
