Varizoom is actually making a servo controlled attatchment for the DVX that you attach for focus, basically a remote control focus puller, or in layman's terms, A little remote control motor that spins your focus ring for you.

I talked to them at DVexpo, and they have had a ton of issues such as motor noise etc, but I think they got it figured out.

FYI---Here is a quote from an email from Varizoom on when to expect their remote focus product;

That sounds about right.. it seems most manufacturers really have a hard time developing products for the DVX.. probally because of all the proprietary hardware/firmware

As far as zoom controllers, we went to DVExpo to get firsthand experience with them. We compared the standard Varizoom, the VZ-rock, and the Zoe. Our determination was that the Zoe was vastly superior to the other products. Figures, of course, that the Zoe was the most expensive too.

I've not tried the Zoe for the DVX100. What distinguished it from the other brands?

Barry we probally followed each other around at DVexpo without even knowing it.

I just bought a Manfrotto 522P
