Matte box for the DVX100
I've just purchased a 16:9 lens and wide angle lens for my DVX100. I do allot of car action filming and usually attach the camera onto the car. I’m starting to worried that the 16:9 or wide lens falling off... since they are only held on by THREADS!
I was looking at the Matte box for the DVx100. Can that be a solution to support the 16:9 lens or any other attachments? Is there a simple kit with rods that just support the lens? Rod system? |
The lens shouldn't fall off.. its pretty light considering its plastic.
As for matteboxes, we used a 6x6 ARRI mattebox with a 6 stage filter on rails in front of the Ana and it worked fine.. but that setup costs more than the camera did. (and added 3x the weight) I believe that 16x9 makes a ana mattebox, but have never tried it or even seen it. |
(16x9 is basically a distributor, not a manufacturer.) They are U.S. distributors for the Chrosziel products, among others.
Here's a 16:9 Chrosziel matte box at B&H. You would also need the rods and brackets to complete the kit. |

Here's a more detailed kit and documentation of the rig at ZGC, also one of our long-standing sponsors, btw.

Is anybody using this mattebox (chrosziel) with the anamorphic lens? Is it effective in controlling flares and stray light? Are there any issues( vingetteing for example)? How about using it with a polarizer? I would really appreciate any info on this matte box.
Thanks, everybody. |
Anyone know anything about Petroff's matte boxes?
http://www.petroff.ws Trying to find someone with past experience to shed some light. Thanks |
