ME66 on camera

Is the ME66 to large to be used as an on camera mic, does it show in the frame?

Attach it using a LightWave Systems Mini-Mount, which allows you to position it so that it doesn't show in the frame.

Dick--I use the ME66 mounted on a standard shock mount and never see it in frame, even with a Rycote Softie in place.

On my XL1s it shows up with a wide angle, but I just have to turn around the lightwave mini mount to get it out. The most important thing is that the ME66 is about 1/2 the weight of my other shotgun mic, so it's much more secure riding around on the top of the camera.

I think I've had a .6 Century Optics Wide Angle on and not seen the mic, but don't quote me on that. Also, it's possible my shock mount rides higher than the mount you guys are talking about.

Appreciate the help does anyone know of hand if the MM-25 minimount will fit the dvx100? I just bought a me66/k6 mic, yet with the softie it is very prominent in the frame; I am using the stock mic mount. I am not very fond of hot shoe mounts, hoping to use the mm-25 in reverse to move the mic back and up.

Cheers,

I just got done using mine with a shoe mount shockmount with the ME66 and it did lovely. Got the mount from EVS for about 30 bucks.
