Sand in DVX (any suggetions)

What a nightmare. I spent months saving up for a DVX and the second time I use it I get sand in the lens!. I had a shoot at the beach and the sand sublimably got in ( I didnt drop the camera, or bumped into it, or put it on the floor at the beach). Basically it is a few particles of sand right around the lens. Everything is internal. It looks like it got in in the small gap where the lens connects to te camera body (right after the zoom ring). Does anyone have ANY advice? should I try blowing some air in the gap?
Thanks.

I think your best bet is to send it to Panasonic factory service for a professional cleaning.

A rain slicker from Kata or PortaBrace does a great job of keeping sand out of the camera.

Don't worry

Your new camera was just anxious to get down and dirty!
that's what they are for. After traveling the world with ridiculous amounts of gear and spending 95% of my time on the beach with all of the salt spray etc, you just need to let your new camera be the rugged tool that it is. Sand isn't that big of a deal, the salt spray on the other hand will have you replacing yor heads in no time...
