Warning! Psd Ng
Anyone here got that warning in flashing red?
i did and my camera started making weird sounds since that warning (like a fan is working all the time extra hard) I have the DVX100 for a few mounth with no prob. so far.. untill now. In the manual it says that its a problem with the stabeliser, but now the warning stoped, however the sound is still here. Anyone knows if i need repairs or has anoyone seen this problem beofre? Thank you, Im Ron, from Israel. im a film student with no camera right now.... |
It certainly sounds as if there's a fault with the vibrating OIS elements Ron. If you put your ear to the lens does the noise seem to come from there? Can you switch the OIS on and off and does that make a difference? Is the OIS still working at all, in other words is it stabilising the image? Might be time to push the 'reset' button and start over.

First of all thank you for responding.
Second, The sound doesnt stop if i turned the stabilzer on\off. The stabilizer is working, however if it works more than a few minutes it gives me the warning again. What is the 'reset' button. it could be a joke i guess, but i have to ask. |
I don't have a DVX100, but my Sony camcorders have a 'reset' button that you access with a pencil point if you feel you've strayed too far from the manufacturer's defaults in the menu. Ping, and the camera's back to how it came off the production line.
But I fear your camera is in need of repair, especially if this noise is being picked up by the microphones. But the cost of repair could well buy you a nice tripod, in which case (to look on the bright side of things) you won't need the on-board stabilisation. 5tom. |
See this thread if you have the same problem and reply there...
