Diopter Adjustment Dial

The diopter adjustment dial is difficult to turn on my AG-DVX100, is this normal or should it spin as easily as the iris dial?

The camera that I've used, has a stiffer diopter adjustment. I think this is so it is not easily bumped and misadjusted.
