Opinions on DVX 100 and DVC 80
 

Hey all,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on the differences on the 2...
Basically I'm focussing (pardon the pun) on wedings and "family" events like engagements etc...

aaaaaanyways, ive noticed the DVC80 doesnt have the CineGamma or the 24p... but it carries pretty much everything else...
Now in all honesty, i dont know if these features on teh DVX100 are overkill for what i will be filming, but some of the cinegamma features are intriguing, (like the spark setting) but in all honesty, i cant decide which to go for...

Im after a PAL setup and using an MX500 for the moment, and i am very pleased with the fotage.. i dont see why people complain about this unit, as it does what it says it does...
But i have a couple of other single chippers doing the rounds as well...

In the end, I want something really special to bring out the footage and im just thinking...
How many changes to my editing technique will i need to do to accomodate this camera?

If i go for the DVX100, do i convert to 25p and adjust the sample rate to compensate for teh audio sync... and basically run a 25p config thruout the whole edit?? Im thinkin i'll need to do this as im using multiple cameras....
This seems to be my quick and easy solution for multi cam productions... but im not too sure at the moment... Vegas is good, but i dunno the difference it makes when outputting to DVD... considering that the final file is one and the same thruout the wole production...
(Does that make sense..?? LOL)

See in the end, i'll be using footage from the MX, and the single chippers as well as one of these 2 newbies..

The DVX is whats pulling me at the mo, but like i said, i really dont know how many more benefits it has to offer as opposed to the 80 when editing with different frame rates...

any ideas or thoughts are greatly appreciated :)

Are you happy with the investment...

at the mo its one of these or the Sony.. the only reasonim holding back on the VX2000 is due to the bad sound, and coming from an audio background, this is a major factor in the decision making..
