microphones

hi, i'm planning to buy the GH1 and wondering about mic options. does anybody have experience of the MS1? I'm also considering the rode videomic (RØDE Microphones - VideoMic)

both these mics seem to be a bit on the cheapside however (pricewise) so i'm wondering is it better to put my money somewhere else? I do some documentary so i was thinking to have the rode for interviews and the MS1 for everything else. or is it maybe that the quality of mics with a minijack connection are generally aimed at consumer level and theres not really any good options?

I know for pro results the best would be a dual system as the automatic gain control on the GH1 is going to be quite annoying but hopefully theres some small chance this could be changed with an upgrade from panasonic?

cheers

i think i will go for the small sennheiser shotgun Sennheiser | MKE 400 Compact Video Camera Shotgun | MKE 400 as the reviews seem pretty positive..

now trying to decide between the MS-1 or the Sure Stereo Videomic which looks very nice but pricy Rode | Stereo VideoMic - Camera Mounted | STEREO VIDEO MIC | B&H

any thoughts or advice? thanks!

Manus: I've used the Rode Videomic and it really is a good microphone. With Auto Gain Control, you should be fine; I'd recommend a pre-amp normally, but as you can't turn down the gain...

I'm planning on getting a GH1 but plan to record dual-system anyway - with the Rode as the primary on-camera mic, and my Juicedlink mixer going into a Zoom H2.
