Not impressed - especially that they let it show Canon's were used. As I posted on YouTube:
@samiminh @philippecr I've shot commercials with my Panasonic Lumix GH1 that have aired on TV, and the GH1 which was MORE than just up to the task (see my videos). While I'm disappointed the production team didn't consider using a GH1, I'm quite amazed that the public relations team at Panasonic would let out a video displaying that the direct competitor's product (Canon cameras) were used to shoot a Panasonic commercial! Disappointing, Panasonic.
While it's no secret that competitors use each-other's hardware/software/IP all the time to do their own work, letting it SHOW in a behind the scenes commercial isn't a smooth move. There's growing interest in HD video in DSLR-like cameas, and many people are 'in the know' and shopping around. While the production team must have been most comfortable with the Canon DSLRs as production tools, leaving shots in the final cut of the behind the scenes video so we can spot Canon DSLRs shooting a commercial for Panasonic DSLRs isn't exactly a vote for confidence in the Panasonic line up.
