GH2 40fps @ 4MP continuous ?

I've read on multiple sites (most having conflicting GH2 specs) that the new GH2 will shoot 40fps continuous at 4 megapixels. Does anyone know if this is confirmed.

Sounds too good to be true. I really hope it's true though, 4k image sequences realtime, forget about video codecs! I'm probably just dreaming though.

From the Panasonic website:
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...702#tabsection

Burst Speed SH: 40 frames/sec(4M), H: 5 frames/sec, M: 3 frames/sec (with Live View), L: 2 frames/sec (with Live View)

BURST SHOOTING: Number of recordable images 7 images (when there are RAW files with the particular speed)
Unlimited consecutive shooting (when there are no RAW files)
(depending on memory card size, battery power, picture size, and compression)

Yes, I read those specs, hopefully consecutive really means unlimited. After further reading I found another panasonic spec sheet that states it's actually 3Mp @ 16:9, this equates to a 2k resolution.

Also live view is supposed to stay on during burst shooting. 2k at 40fps (24p after post) would be excellent unless I'm missing something. AVCHD mush and maybe aliasing would be less of an issue.

Apparently the rolling shutter is very noticeable at this res and FPS. So probably good for slow moving things, fairly static shots, but not panning or motion.

But hopefully a good sign for where things will go with future generations.

Keep in mind that no footage or tests to date are on production models.

thanks, I knew it was too good to be true. The camera stopped exactly at 40 frames, useless... My interest in this camera just went even farther down.

from what i read, it only shoots 40FPS for 1 second maximum at 4K. ill try to find the link.
