In pal land the 1.1 update giving us 25P albeit in a wrapper is brilliant,24P is not good here and although 50i has served me ok the extra HBR is great.

Matching other cameras is the main reason for wanting 25p. Certain manufacturers (I'm looking at you Canon!) sell PAL cameras that only do 25p/50i. The firmware can be upgraded to also support 24p/30p/60i but they charge a few hundred pounds.

That makes sense. The broadcast angle is a red herring really, since I doubt many broadcasters would be keen to use heavily compressed, low dynamic range GH2 video (though they break their own rules all the time, at least in the UK).
