HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
Hi everyone.
We've been working on our first feature for a couple years now and it's finally finished and will be out later this year! The film's official trailer has just debuted and I wanted to share it with you: It was shot in the fall of 2010 with a GH1 and anamorphic prime lenses. Let me know what you think! Thanks for looking! |
Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
I'm still amazed at the ability to go to a film movie release from these tiny little cameras. If it has a happy ending may be a good date movie. Best of luck with it, some nice shots in the trailer.

Thanks for watching Ron.
...Probably not the greatest date movie... not a first date anyway. |
Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
Very nicely done Ryan! Your trailer is very engaging. I hope the feature is a hit..

Where will it be released? I'm sure many of us would like to see it.

Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
It will screen in Toronto on June 24th as an official selection of the ReelHeART International Film Festival.
And we're waiting to hear back about another screening or two as well. The plan is to then have the film available online later this fall. Thanks to everyone who has checked out the trailer! |
Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
The thing I love about this is that it was shot on a GH1. Too many people get stuck on the gear and never get anything made. They wait for the GH2 and then the GH3 and then the Blackmagic Pocket Camera and so forth and never get create nothing.
This movie already looks amazing but considering the fact it was shot on a GH1 should prove to people it isn't always about the camera. Yeah a good camera can help but it never takes the place of the art of story telling. I moved up to a GH2 and now a GH3 and honestly some of my best stuff was still shot with the GH1. Just happened to be in the right environment at the time at work to be shooting a lot of great stuff. Only owned the GH2 for four months before moving on to the GH3 a couple weeks ago. As nice as the GH2 and GH3 are they do not take the place of the situations and talent I got to work with when I used the Gh1. |
Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
Thanks for looking Thomas, I totally agree with you.

Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
Ryan, I am inspired by your work--especially since you're shooting with the Panny GH series! We hear so much commentary about the Canons and while they're marvelous cameras, the GHs need not take a back seat to them! The trailer is superb and gives all us GH shooters something to smile about.
Well done! |

Re: HILLS GREEN - feature film trailer
I won't repeat what others have said. I will say a great cast! Good on you for choosing them and gutsy to do the improv thing. Looks like it paid off well.
