GH3 as a POV using 17mm vs 12mm
 

For my next international trip documentary, I'm considering a POV kit based on the GH3 as a dashboard and second camera view to accompany my EX1R.

I'm not interested in the GoPros and the BM camera won't ship in time. I like the high bitrate of the GH3 and video oriented ergonomics. And the stills capability lets me leave the 5DMII at home.

Anyone used the GH3 in a POV rig?

What are your thoughts on the 12mm vs 17mm and AF/AE capbilities of the GH3 for basically unattended operation?

Can anyone point me to some mounting gear that works well with the GH3?
