MTS File Repair
I had another case of a corrupt card after shooting on a GH3. I was able to recover all the files with Recuva, but the MTS files are playing strangely. I think this is because the video information was detached from the meta information -- there are corresponding CPI files that were also recovered. Anyone have any idea how I can repair? I've tried researching software options, but none seem to accept MTS (even though they say they do).
I tried Handbrake, but it doesn't like the MTS files. Thanks! |

Try MPEG2Repair whose author has since retired the web page you access it from, but I have attached the zipped .exe file so that you can make use of it. (It's still available online but I can't vouch for the other sites).
Another programme which has a "fix it along the way" type function is Avidemux. Let us know how you go. Andrew |
Re: MTS File Repair
Thanks Andrew! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to do anything with the files.

Re: MTS File Repair
Are you able to open the files at all with the software? (perhaps you have a sample file that you can make available?)

Re: MTS File Repair
Will MediaInfo open the files and report the video and audio elementary stream information ?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/ If so, there might be a chance of re-muxing the files i.e. re-writing the mts (m2ts) container, if that's where the errors are. |
