Strange HVX behavior. HELP!

My HVX-200 is misbehaving. The power switch will turn the camera on, but not off. The menu button works about 10% of the time and I am unable to switch to MCR or PC modes. This is happening in both P2 and Tape modes. Anyone ever had anything like that?

Sounds like a possible loose internal connection. I'd send in for warranty repair.

Thanks, Noah. Panasonic seems to agree. Any relation to Nick Kadner?

This is a common problem with HVX cameras. There are several flat cables that need to be replaced internally. Most cameras I see with this problem are sadly just barely out of warranty.

So Andy if this was a car would they issue a recall or should we call it normal maintenance like a tune up?

Well it seems to be a manufacturing problem... but getting Panasonic hasn't issued any kind of recall.
