JVC and Pansonic are two different companies. They have the same parent but they run independent from each other. It could happen but I have never heard of them sharing anything in the past.

JVC and Panavision don't make the CCDs themselves. Probably, though others would know better, they don't design them either but by them from a company like Altasens and use them in their camera.

Quite true and thanks for mentioning this, Thomas. There's a popular myth running around the web which tries to claim that these two companies are one and the same, which is entirely incorrect. Panasonic is wholly owned by Matsushita. Matsushita has about a 50% interest in JVC. The similarities end there. Panasonic and JVC remain stiff competitors and they are in fact two completely different entities. There are those who like to draw the connection between Panasonic, JVC and Matsushita but these are also the same folks who tend to turn a blind eye to the fact that the rest of the industry is just as incestuously inbred. There are connections between Sony & Canon, Canon & Panasonic, Panasonic & Leica, Sony & Kyocera and so on and so on and so on. No big whup.

Let's not forget Final Cut Pro records uncompressed 4:2:2 1080 24p via firewire. Get a Black Magic card for the component outs and you should be doing well.
