By the time the Red Scarlet turns up you may be too old to lift the thing. I'm so bored of hearing about this camera that was "on its way" years ago.

True, very true but I am giving them this NAB to have a shot at my purchase. I figure if they do not have a camera that can be purchased this summer that the other big three will have caught them by the time they do have something out. 120fps and RAW has to given the opportunity, don't you think!

Well it may be interesting, but i suspect that once all the bells and whistles are added on it will be way out of my price range. A mate of mine has a red, and even the "Red" CF cards cost several times what normal CF cards cost. I'm really not into all that proprietary BS.

And do i really need such a camera when there are so many superb and affordable options available? I'm not so sure, but let's wait and see. My next camera will almost certainly be the Canon XF100, because i'm headed off to the Far East and want something small that punches above its weight codecwise. I'm far more excited about that than i am a Scarlet.

Also to my knowledge a lot of BBC`s Top Gear use the HDX900 for a lot of their nice car films and it`s not like you sit in your living room annoyed by the fact that it`s not all full raster imagery....

I don`t think RED will steal to much from the main clients using 2/3" gear, some yes, but RED is not as efficient to work with. Did choose a hpx3000 over red for a small commercial shoot, one reason was the hassle with RED in the field and the 3000 cuts nicer with 2/3" cineflex camera for kind of images we were going for.
