Re: Hpx 600
I saw some sneak peek picts of the PX270. It doesn't look too promising because the optical section is pretty much the same from the HPX-250. But the flipout LCD is moved up toward the handle (similar to Sony's PMW200). The bottleneck is the 22x lens. AVC-Ultra 200 will not going to magically make it look like a $35K broadcast 2/3" lens. There may be some small improvements here and there but likely it'll not convince me to spend another $6K for an upgrade. Very disappointed. Was looking for an improved optical section but I don't think it'l ever happen on the PX270. Sticking to my HPX-250.
<<My main hope is that we get one more round of 1080p cameras that reach a higher level of operational refinement, 1/3" through 2/3" from all of the makers. 4k is fine and will have uses but the majority of folks would befefit from improved 1080p cameras. The PX270 might be the start of that wave. Lets hope.<<< |

The last in 3 races I covered with the HPX600.

Re: Hpx 600
Nice footage Myles and it looks very filmic with some nice shallow DOF that works well in context of the subject.
I must check out the HPX-600 and see how it compares to the PMW-400 as I prefer the look of panasonic for drama and doco's and already own the HPX-301+371. |

FOR SALE: PANASONIC HPX600 / Fujinon XA17X7.6 BERM...
I have one AGHPX600 with color viewfinder and Fujinon XA17X7.6 BERM M6D lens that I purchased new in May, 2014 and now need to sell ASAP. I'd be interested in selling the body or lens separately as well. If you are, or know anyone who might be interested please let me know...it will be a great deal since there is under 150 hours on the camera.
