system error p2 control error

New camera, AG-HPX250EN has this system error

"system error p2 control error"

menu and all other functions won't work. Switched on / off, removed battery etc. Manual doesn't have a list of error messages, on-line search didn't find anything. Panasonic.com doesn't recognise it's own model name.

Any help appreciated.

Hi Ben have you registered your camera with Panasonic as that will give you access to their support systems.

Do you have any menu's or controls active on the camera or just the error message?

It may be that the firmware has become corrupted or it may need updating and to do this you will have to get access to the panasonic download web site to get the latest version to load into your camera.

If it is like the 301/371 you will need to download the firmware to a mac or pc and then copy it to an SD card for loading to the camera.

Also can you format the P2 cards as it may be that they have become corrupted so I would re format them in the camera if you can.

Sorry can't help more but it may be that due to your location the camera has gone through some serious security screening and the eprom devices that hold the operating firmware have become corrupted.

I had a quick look around and found this to be available: https://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/pro...pghpx250_e.htm

but you need to register your camera to get access to the full panasonic PASS support system, there will also be a camera re-set but as I don't know this camera you will need more help from panasonic.

Re: system error p2 control error

P.S having had a look around I have seen on another forum if it is similar to other panasonic cameras that there may be a reset button next to the bars switch?

Press the reset button. Then go to the user menu and choose INIT.

Note you may need a small screwdriver or a paper clip to press the reset button.
