Thanks for the lengthy response. Unfortunately, that is not Jan's experience in my exchange with her and Gary Adcock at the Cow.

Jan indicated, "I just recorded 2 minutes of my living room. I went over to the MAC, I deleted the clip. I noticed that the available storage room had not changed however. Although nothing appeared to be on the card, when reinserting back into the camera, I only had 8 minutes of time left."

So, let's see what the deal is as she continues to explore alternatives.

The cards use FAT32 file system. Reformatting takes only a few seconds.

Jan indicated in a latter post that she wasn't correctly formatting the card.

Seems to be fine with existing PC Card slots.

The new Intel Mac PowerBook changed things, though.
