Data Rate Question
 

I captured 720P/24 @ 48 on the FS-100. When I import the clips in Final Cut 5.1, the clips show a 14.1 data rate. Why am I seeing such a low data rate?

That's exactly what it should be. Take a look at this page about DVCPRO HD data rates:

The only way to get a higher rate is to shoot uncompressed which the HVX is not capable of nor would you really want to since it requires thousands of dollars in special hardware to deal with it.

Thanks Robert. I also found the data rate chart for various formats within FCP. I thought it would be higher than 14.1 but...now I know.
