P2 store manager available for mac.

just thought some people might like to know since Panasonic is not doing so great in announcing updates.

If you're like me, when I bought my P2 store I was told the P2 store manager is only for PC, well not anymore, It's available for mac (powerpc only). Now why don't they release a version that works on both PPC and intel mac, go figure!
Anyone from panasonic out there ?

Eric, can you post a link to the P2 store manager?

Thanks.

I've been looking all over the panny broadcast and can't find nothing.
A quick call to Panny Uk also achieved nothing.
But here's hoping.
I think they'd better getting working on the Universal version, what's the point of making news software if it doesn't work with the new hardware.

Click Here, then click "Download Driver Software for Windows and Macintosh Computers", a window pops up, click "Accept", on the next page click "Driver Software for Macintosh P2 STORE/PCMCIA card slot/IEEE1394b". Open the zip folder and drag "P2StoreManager" to your Applications folder (or wherever). P2 Store Manager is a stand-alone app.

Downloaded the software. Its a shame they don't have an option to turn of the motion sensor while dumping. Sometimes I would certainly take the risk.

Try switching the "Verify" switch to OFF. It's located on the P2 Store's battery mount.

I have been using the P2 store with P2 genie on my mac for months and things work great. What does a p2 manager do for the P2 store, what are the benefits? any info about the P2 manager would be appreciated.

thanks

P2 Store Manager is free software. Follow the directions above and see for yourself if it's something you could use.

I am running it on my Intel Mac (MBPro) and it works fine. Probably is just running in emulation mode, right?

Although printed in April 2006 and therefore indicating there is no Mac version yet of the Store Manager, it does at least tell what the Store Manager does.

My question: Why would you get this product rather than a Firestore??

Its the way to do a continuous recording with the P2 workflow on the field, without requiring a laptop. The firestore doesn't let you work with all the P2 specific advantages the hvx200 offers...

I originally purchased the FS-100 Firestore, and I was terribly disappointed with it. It basically just blew up and never functioned properly.

Conversely, I have had exactly zero troubles using the P2 cards and (once I learned how to reformat it. . . bad Panny instructions!) the P2 Store.

I can also give the STONGEST POSSIBLE recommendation for the Mac version of the program P2 Genie. That program is wonderful!

What P2 reader are you using on the macbook pro?
Seeing as how it doesn't use the PCMIA slot.
